Illustration Friday: Scary!

Once again I have managed to combine the week's Illustration Friday theme with my Sketchbook Project "treehouse" topic.  Here is "scary":

This is the darkest I've drawn on the sketchbook pages, and I'm pleased to report no problems with bleed through.

  2. Wow, that's a great illustration. Horrible, though. I mean, if I walked outside to that I would be quite unhappy. (I haven't started my sketchbook yet - and bleed through is one of my worries).

  3. Thanks, Buddhafulkat!

Thank you, Cindy! I should clarify that there are no spots of ink bleeding through, but when I really build up the blacks, I can see a bit of shadow of the image through back of the paper. I can live with that. I wouldn't paint the ink on the page, but I like it much better than the flimsy Moleskine Cahiers used for the project last year. I think if I wanted to paint, I'd do it on a piece of watercolor paper then attach that to the page inside the sketchbook after it dries.

  4. I love this, very delicate linework, well conceived and executed. An image both charming and menacing.
