Time Out with watercolor

Today I finally got around to finishing my "time out" drawing with its watercolor wash.
I can't decide how I feel about it. But I do know it's not blowing me away.

My characters need more ... something. They seem as if any anonymous artist might have drawn them. They're not clearly Jeanie Wogaman's work. They need more that sets them apart from one another too. Good thing I have more time to draw these days. I have my work cut out for me.


  1. Not sure what else they need...they look pretty good to me! I have found with some of my pieces that if I step away from it for a while (could be hours, could be days) that somehow it looks better when I look at it later.
    Not sure why this happens. Your work definitely looks consistent to me, and you DO have a style! :)

  2. Oh beautiful! One day I still learn to paint with watercolors! Until I try but it seems that the hand does not obey!
